Revlon-a-thon #3 : Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Keeping up with my Revon-a-thon, here are the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. These lip sticks were a big collective hype in the beauty community all around Youtube. And I fully understand why! The first lip stick I tried was from Lise Watier, it was called Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss but it got discontinued. Those are a more glossy lip product that wears pretty easily but the Revlon ones are true stains.

I first got the nude color called Charm (035) and I really liked it so a couple of days later I went out and bought Sweetheart (025). A feature that I really enjoy about the Balm Stains is that you just have to twist the end part to get the product out, so no need to find a sharpener that's big enough to fit them! The only thing is, they will get flat s no more precision with them after a while. The fact that the color of the packaging is almost identical as what the colors of the balm is is very convenient when you look trough your collection. You see right away what the color is and it's faster for "on the go". I have to say that I don't like the smell of these (minty sent) but that is just my personal preference because it's quite a strong smell. If you enjoy minty lip products, this is great. The two shades that I own a really different but I feel like the first pay off is good for both. Charm is very nude on me since I'm so pale but during the day, it turns very pink on my lips and I don't really like that. I don't find myself reaching for these products very often because of the scent and the fact that Charm changes color when I wear it.

I would say that this is a really great product that Revlon came out with, it's just not my thing. The color selection is awesome and there is a color for everyone in the line. I think that everybody can use the Balm Stains even beginners because they are easy to use and they stay on, so no touch-ups! Only downside for me : the strong minty scent. Which may be a nice touch for you if you like it!

Revlon-a-thon #2 : Colorstay Liquid Liner

This is the second review in my Revlon-a-thon serie. As you may know if you read my blogpost on Lise Watier makeup, I had already found my Holy Grail black eyeliner. Since it's my favorite, I use it up pretty fast and this time, I wanted to try someting else before buying another one of the Encre Noir liner. I checked out a couple of review on Youtube about the best liquid liner but I thought, if I change my favorite, I'd prefer a drugstore eyeliner! So I found on emilynoel83 channel (My favorite youtuber of all time) that the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner is her favorite liquid liner! I went out, bought it and here is my thought on it.

First, I have to tell you what i'm looking for in a liquid liner. I want control, a small applicator for tiny lines and details, a very matte black formula and a good staying power. I prefer brush tip applicators and a quite short but not too tiny handle.
This product has a felt tip and I was really impressed with the application of it! You can achieve a very small line with it or get crazy and make a big wing and there is no problem at all. I actually really enjoy the tip since it's short and pointy, it makes it easier to apply the product. I also like the handle on this, you have a lot of control with this kind of handle(it's very similar to the Lise Watier one) and that's what I want. The product itself is a very rich black and the formula is not dry still not super wet. It glides well and and sets pretty fast. The staying power is great! It will stay all day. It's been some days that I didn't thought about it but I went out in the rain without an umbrella, got some raindrops on my face , came inside and did my things and at the end of the day, this eyeliner hadn't move a bit! And it's not waterproof! It's just really good and it will stay until you take it off.

In conclusion, if you want to try a new liquid liner that is easy to use and that is a drugstore product, go for this one!

I hope you liked this review and if you have a request or comment, please let me know !

Face Of The Day - Warm Eyes, Soft Lips

I already said that but I live in Canada, in the province of Quebec. Here, the weather is hot in summer (from 25°C to 30°C) and very cold in the winter (from -25°C to 30°C). So when the autumn is coming, it also means that the weather is gonna change drastically in about a month! This is also the perfect time to warm up my makeup and get into colors like burgundy, gold and deep bronze shades! So here is a look that I really enjoy for this period of the year.

I bought the Wet'n'Wild trio today but I'm not sure if I like it as much as their other trios. The shadows are a bit powdery but the colors are great. I also bought the lipstick today and I really like that line by Kate Moss for Rimmel! I wish there was more shades to chose from.

Products I used :

Face

-Revlon Colorstay foundation in 220 - natural beige
-MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus
-Stila Convertible Color in Peony for my blush (sample)
-Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in 129 - tiki

                                                         Eyes

Revlon-a-thon #1 : Brow Fantasy

I first discovered the Revlon Brow Fantasy because of a Youtube guru that I really like, MakeupByTiffanyD. I also bought it because it contains both a pencil and a brow gel which is very convinient. I've really got into filling  brows two years ago when my mom got a brow kit from Lise Watier. I saw a really big difference on her and I got myself a Nars brow pencil which I really like. I was looking for a brow gel but I just never bought one.

I have to say that I'm a little picky with my brows when I fill them. I prefer to use two shades of pencil because it looks more natural. I use my Nars pencil in Jodhpur, a neutral warm brown on the inner part of my brows and the Brow Fantasy on the ends. I finish the look by adding a thin coat of the brow gel and I'm done. I picked the shade Dark Blonde since I'm very pale but I want to try the shade Brunette.

I like the pencil part but it's not my favorite because it's not sticky enough. The Nars pencil that I use is dry but the formula seems to act like a wax and I prefer that. The pencil on the Brow Fantasy is OK in my opinion for the second part of my brows(arch+end) but I wouldn't use it for the entire thing because it doesn't stay well enough. I find that it fades a lot during the day, even with the brow gel. Talking of the brow gel, I don't like it much. I think that the formula a bit too liquidy. I also don't really like the tint of it. It turns my eyebrows a bit too ashy for me and the gel doesn't "disappear" completely. When I wear it, if you know a bit about makeup and you look at my brows, you will see the gel. It makes strikes of color on the hair and that's what I don't like. Maybe it's because of the shade but I'm pretty sure that the Brunette would be a bit too dark. I think that If you like a gel that's on the liquidy side and you have the right eyebrow shade, this is a product you may like. As I said, it's some people's favorite so you just have to try it I guess!

I hope you liked this review and make sure to leave a comment if you have a question :) Have a nice day xx

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation

Just like a lot of people, I'm on the hunt for the perfect foundation for me. I'm looking for a natural looking skin but with enough coverage to hide most of the redness on my face. I prefer a satin finish most of the time but I enjoy a semi-mat finish once in a while. I don't usually go for dewy foundation because I like to use powder so it's pointless for me. The retail price of this foundation is around 14 to 18$, it depends on where you buy it.

It says on the bottle that it will illuminate, unify and improve the look of the skin for a healthy-looking complexion and there is vitamins C & E in it.
This foundation has a sheer to medium coverage but it can build up quite nicely. It gives a healthy glow but it's not greasy. I'd say that this is between satin and dewy finish. I apply it with my fingers most of the time because with this foundation, that's how I get the most natural look.It has a very nice pump and I need 1-1½ pump of product for my face and neck. It blends really well and allows you to place it on your face before you blend it. It feels lightweight and it's very comfortable to wear throughout the day. I prefer to set it with a powder over my T-Zone but it does set nicely. For the staying power, I'd say it holds up pretty well during the day with one (or two if it's humid outside)touch-up of powder on the T-Zone. There is 15 shades to choose from and you have to know what undertone you are(neutral, cool or warm). My shade is n3 natural buff and it suits me very well. One of the things I like to have in a foundation is a sun protection and the Lumi has a SPF of 20 which is really great. I don't really care for flashbacks simply because I don't really like to have my photos taken so it's not a big deal for me. Lastly, I would suggest this foundation to people who have normal, combination or dry skin. Since it's quite luminous, this might not be the best option for those who have oily skin.

I have to say that I really like this foundation! I love how it feels, how it looks, how my skin reacts with it, I just really enjoy wearing this foundation. Most of it's features are ones I look for in a product and I'm quite impress by that! If it's not discontinued when I'm done with that bottle, I will absolutely buy it again.

I hope my review helped you to know more about this foundation and decide if you want to get it or not. For any question or comment, please leave it in the comments section :)

Drugstore Mascaras : My top picks

Time to talk about mascaras! I think it's the only makeup product that I wear every single day. It just adds so much to the look and opens the eyes like nothing else. What I look for in a mascara is a lot of volume mostly at the roots of lashes, good lenght and good definition. I prefer rubbery bristles most of the time and I tend to like big brushes better. I don't wear waterproof mascara everyday, I only use waterproof during very hot days and when I go out. Now that you know a little more about what I like, here are my top 3 drugstore mascaras! All of them are similar in price, they cost all under 10$ depending where you by them. These 3 mascara's formula are not too dry/not too liquid, just perfect for me.

#3 Covergirl Lash Blast - Original

Out of my 3 picks, the Lash Blast is the first that I tried(obviously because it came out way before haha!). The brush is really big and it has very short rubbery bristles. I like that at the end of the brush, the bristles are even shorter and makes me able to coat even the smaller lashes in the inner corner. It gives me volume at the roots, good definition and pretty good length. This mascara NEVER smudges on me. It's very longwearing and gives(and holds) a nice curl. I like that the blackest black is very dark and intense. The packaging is quite sleek. The end of the handle is a bit too thin for me to have a really good grip on it.
As you may or may not know, this mascara comes now in 4 different formulas. There is the original in the orange packaging- which is my favorite of the bunch, there's also a pink and a purple tube, pink one has colored sparkles(4 shades available) and the purple one should give more lenght but to me they are the same as the original. The last that came out is the Lash Blast 24 Hour. I don't really like it just because it's too long wearing and hard to take off.

#2 Maybelline One by One Volum'Express

Usually I don't really like Maybelline mascaras but I'm so glad I tried this one because I love it! The brush head is flexible so it's convinient to get every lash. The bristles are kind of on the softer side, they are not stiff like the Voluminous Million Lashes bristles, they have a medium lenght and are shorter on both end of the brush. This mascara gives me moderate volume, great length and great definition! It rarely smudges and gives a nice curl. It's a dark formula but I find it less intense than my other 2 favorites. I love the packaging because the handle is perfect and allows a lot of control. There is just the right amount of product that comes out on the brush. I know it's not usual but I kinda like the scent of this mascara!

#1 L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Carbon Black

My boyfriend first got this for me as a little surprise. He bought me a bunch of new things that came out at that time and he knows nothing about makeup but I was very happy with a lot of the things he bought! so thanks Honey :)
The brush is just perfect for me. Once again the brush has rubbery bristles(did I mention that I loved rubbery bristles brushes ? haha!) and they are pretty long and a bit stiff. The combination of these features makes it so easy to coat each lash and to add a good layer of mascara every time you brush trough them. I also really like the handle which is very easy to work with and the brush head is flexible, again, easier to work with. This mascara gives great volume, great length and great definition and it's a A+ for my lashes! I love how they look with this mascara! It smudges only if it's really hot outside but I don't even care because I love it that much. It gives a beautiful curl and holds it pretty well. The darkest black is really dark. I like the golden packaging, I think it's classy and feels higher end. Love It!

If you have any question or comment please leave it in the comment section.
Have a good day :)

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trios - Review

When I was younger, I wasn't into makeup. To me, it was too expensive and I didn't want to spend money on that. At the time, I only knew 3 brands of makeup and they were Covergirl, Maybelline and Revlon. I didn't know that there was this brand called Wet'n'wild that was making incredibly good eyeshadows for the price! I found out about it through my favorite Youtube guru, emilynoel83. I currently have 4 trios.
They are called Wet n Wild ColorIcon Trios. The retail price right now is 2,97$ each at my local Wal-Mart. I bought Walking on Eggshells 1½ year ago and the three others I bought them this year.

385B  Don't steal my thunder
331 - I dream of Greenie
On the left side of my hand I swatched the shadows with a finger (more heavily) and next to it I did the swatch with a brush.

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is really good! As you can see in the pictures, what you see is what you get for most colors. I think that for the price, you can't be that! There is a pretty good selection of shades to choose from and they go from neutral to more colorful and you can even get your classic smokey look with some trios. The colors that Wet n Wild put together in their trios are great! They work beautifully together and a lot of them are great stand-alone shades! One downside for these shadows is that they are a bit powdery when you sweep a brush on them. However, when you tap off the excess, there is almost no fallouts. The staying power is pretty good and they rarely crease on me. I really enjoy all of my trios but my two favorites have to be Walking on Eggshells and in particular the crease shade(golden-bronze), and I Dream of Greenie mostly for the stunning turquoise. They are very soft and blend very nicely together. I like that they added a little brush to help blend eveything! It's nice for people who don't have tools to work with.

380B - Walking on Eggshells
335 - Silent treatment

I have to say that I enjoy working with this product in all the shades I have. I love to colors and the quality of the product. It feels high quality and also looks high quality. You can't go wrong when you buy this product and it's pretty fail-proof because they tell you which shade goes where. It's a total winner for me! I'm so glad that Wet n Wild came out with these trios and the fact that they are so good!

If you have questions or would like to see how I wear these trios please let me know :)

Lise Watier Makeup

Today I'll be doing a post about Lise Watier(Canadian Brand) makeup as it says in the title! Just so you know, it is pronounced Lise Watier Honestly, this is one of my favorite brands! Lise Watier was a very innovative person when she started her makeup line. Her makeup is now in most drugstores here in Quebec. I've got quite a lot of my products cheaper because I went to a warehouse sale in Montreal  So I have been able to try more products for less and see what is worth the price and what's not worth it. I will only show a couple items but if you want to see more, please let me know! All prices are Canadian. You can go on www.lisewatier.com to have more info and see other colors/swatches.

First I'll talk about one of my favorite product of all time : Lise Watier Encre Noir Eyeliner. Encre noir is french for black ink. The retail price of this liquid liner is 19,00$. I bought it at a Lise Watier warehouse sale. It has a tiny and short brush. You can do very precise looks or big and bold cat eyes with it. It is the easiest liner to apply that I found. It's very black and matte when it's dry. It is not waterproof but I'd say it is a pretty long lasting on me(I can get oily lids sometimes and it still holds up). I love handle, not too short or long, it makes it even easier to use. Bottom line for this product : I would recommend to everyone because in my opinion, it is the best black liner.

The next product is very cool for when you go out and it can be use as a liner. It's called the Duo Shadow and Glitter. I have two colors, the grey/silver one is called Smokey Silver and the lime green one is called Golden Wasabi. There is 9 shades for this product and I want to get another one but I don't know which one to choose between Golden Taupe and Smokey Purple. The retail price for each is 25,00$. I bought one in store and one at the warehouse sale. They have a really cute mirror inside the top part where the cream shadow is. For the quality, I feel like the silver shade is creamier but it has more sparckles in it than the green shade. The glitters are very typical glitters, not very dense and kinda big but they stick well to the cream shadow. The only thing is that the cream tend to crease a little. My favorite way to wear them is to use as a liner.

I'm not really into concealer but I wanted to try one for under my eyes so I picked up the Lise Watier Undercover Creme Concealer. The retail price is 24,00$. I bought it in store. There is light-reflecting pigments in the formula that's why I only like it for under eye  My color is 70698 Naturel and it's the second lightest, but there is only four shades. I would say that this is a light to medium coverage concealer. It's creamy and it doesn't settle into the fine lines under my eyes. It is marked as oil-free and waterproof but I didn't really test the waterproof quality.  I don't wear it very often because I find that my foundation hides what needs to be hidden. This is not the best but not the worst. I guess I just don't like concealers!

As I said previously, this is just a few product that I have from that brand. I really enjoy using most of them and it's worth checking it out!

Any question or comment ? Leave it in the comment section :)

Estée Lauder DayWear Moisturizers - Review

The last step for my face routine is to hydrate my skin. I've been searching for a good moisturizer for about 4 years now. Since I haven't a lot of money I often bought drugstore creas but I also tried a couple that are a bit more expensive than drugstore. For example I tried Garnier (blue packaging), LaRoche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Riche, Marcelle Hydra C and Biotherm for dry skin(pink packaging). I was always searching for something that would moisturize really well without a leaving a greasy feeling. Most of the one I tried did nothing... I would apply them and 5 minutes after, it was like I didn't apply anything on my face. I've been talking about that kit I got with sample products, well this was the only full size item.

This is called Estée Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection SPF 15. I have to say that I have both the creme and the lotion. The retail price for both is 51,00$ for 50 ml. The creme fromula comes in 2 skintype, for dry skin and for normal to combination. I have the regular one. The lotion is marked to be for oily skin but it still works on me because I have combination skin and during the summer I get pretty oily on the forehead.

I would prefer the creme to have a pump but this is my only complain-besides the price- for this product. Otherwise it is a-ma-zing! I mainly use the creme formulation at night because it's very rich but it's not greasy. I would also use it during winter because I get very dry during that time so I have to be extra careful. I use the lotion during the day and I like that it helps a little with shine during the day. It feels really lighweight but at the same time I know it's really effective. The only thing is for both formulas, I prefer to let them really penetrate the skin before doing anything else. Obviously I won't apply makeup on top of the creme but I wait maybe 10 minutes before going to bed.
I really like the fact that it provides a SPF of 15 because even if I should, I don't like to apply sunscreen on my face. I also like that it's formulated to prevent aging. At my age, I'm 20 years old, I like to think that I'm helping my skin to stay looking fresh and young. Talking about fresh, I have to say that this is the best smell for a moisturizer in my opinion. Both smell like cucumber and I really enjoy this scent. It feels and smells fresh and I love it.

I will definitly repurchase both products and I think they are worth the price.
If you have any question or comment please leave it in the comment section.
Have a great day :)

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum - Review

In my post about the Illuminating serum I was saying that the serum was just an extra step, well it's the opposite with this one. This is a serum that you use at night, after the toner but before the moisturizer. In the night routine you could add this serum or replace the illuminator. If you would use both serums, use the ANR right before your moisturizer.

The complete name of this serum is Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex. It's retail price is 64,00$ for 30 ml or 94,00$ for 50 ml. It is formulated to repair the skin during the night and help protect it from future damages. It provides a high level of hydration by bulding a rich anti-oxidant reserve to help restore skin's natural protectants. This serum is for all ages and skintypes.
I really felt a difference after using it for the first time. My skin was moisturized when I woke up and it was softer. After about a week of using it every night, it also made it look smoother and more even. After a month of using, I even noticed that my acne scars were less visible. The texture  is really interesting. It's between water and gel I'd say. It leaves the skin a bit tacky but it's meant to use with a moisturizer over so it doesn't bother me. I love the drop dispenser. I use 1 drop on each cheek, 1 on the forehead and 1 for both my nose and my chin, I finish with another drop for my neck. It is marked as unscented but it smells kind of funny to me. Not bad just nothing I ever smelled. I love this product and I will continue to buy it!

If you have any question or comment make sure to let me know :)

Estée Lauder Illuminator Serum - Review

This next step is, once again, not an essential step for a regular skincare routine. First of all, I have to say that I have a bit of discoloration here and there on my face, I also have freckles and some dry patches. I really don't like the discoloration on my face. I usually wear foundation to hide it because I don't feel comfortable with that problem on my face. I'm not saying it's that big of a deal, it's just my preference to cover the rednesses or sun spots, etc. In the little starter kit that I bought about 2 months ago, there was this serum(at that time I didn't even know what a serum was). This is the only product of the kit that I haven't finished yet and that's why I don't have it in full-size. The sample was a 15 ml bottle.
It's called Estée Lauder Idealist Even Skintonee Illuminator. The retail price is 72,50$ for 30 ml or 100,00$ for 50 ml. It doesn't say what skintype it is for but I know that there is another serum called the Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. I assume that the illuminating serum would be good for combination/normal/dry skins and the pore minimizer one is better for combination/oily skins.
The claim for this serum is that it will dramatically reduce the look of uneven skintone. It did a good job with redness around my nose and on my chin and I really like the silky smooth feeling that it gives to the skin. You have to be aware that there is a pearly effect in this product. However it doesn't leave the skin looking oily or like a glitter ball, it just add a bit of glow and if you apply some sort of foundation or powder, the shimmer won't appear. All you're left with is a glowing skin. It absorbs pretty fast but I prefer to let it soak in for like 2 minutes before applying my moisturizer. It allows the serum to really penetrates the skin and it's even more effective that way. For the smell, I have no idea how to describe it. It's a fresh scent but it's different from the Perfectly Clean line, I personnally prefer the PC scent but I still like that one.

Since this is a pricey product, I'm not 100% sure that I will buy it full size but I still like it a lot.

If you have any question or comment please let me know :)

Estée Lauder Toner - Review

Now that the face is clean, we need to use a toner. The toner will completly get rid of any cleanser residue or spots we missed with the cleanser. Personnally, I didn't try a lot of toners but I always felt like they did nothing for me. Plus, they would leave my skin feeling tight and very dry.
This toner is called Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Fresh Balancing Lotion.
The retail price is 29,50$ for 200 ml or 39,50$ for 400 ml. At first, I only wanted the small bottle to try it but the lady at the EL counter had a coupon for 10$ off since I was buying 2 skincare products(i got the full size cleanser at the same time). It's in the same line as the cleanser so the toner is also for normal to combination skin.

I bought it on June 1st so this product is new to me. I've been using it since I got it, morning and night, after cleansing my face. I haven't seen that much of a difference but I feel like I'm really taking away any residue that was left on my skin especially on my eyes where there's always a bit of mascara left. I don't think it's an essential step but I prefer to do it. It makes my skin feel fresh and smooth but not tight and the most important thing is that it's Alcohol-free. It has almost the same exact smell than the cleanser which I love. I will definetly continue to use it but I'm not sure yet if I will repurchase it since it's expensive and it's just an extra step for me.

If you have any questions or comments, make sure to let me know! Next up is my daily serum!

Estée Lauder Cleanser - Review

Hello everyone! For my first few reviews, I'll talk about my skincare products. About 2 to 3 months ago, I tried a pack of skincare deluxe samples from Estée Lauder. After using the products religiously morning and night for about 2 weeks, i realized that my skin was much better! It was softer, felt lighter and I noticed having less pimples. This is why over the time I finished each sample, I went out and bought it full size. I'm not rich or anything but I think skincare is a good investment. First things first, I'll talk about the cleanser. Prices are all Canadian. I have combination skin so dryer cheeks and oilyer T-Zone, mostly the forehead.

It's called Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser. The retail price is 29,50$ for 125 ml. All of those products are expensive in my opinion but to me they are well worth the price.
This cleanser is for normal to combination skin.
First time I tried it, OMG. It felt SO silky and smooth! You have to try it to understand! It foams very easily and feels really soft. As you can tell from the picture, it comes in a tube and you don't need a lot a product because it foams so well. After rinsing, the skin feels fresh but not dry. I think it does a very good job at removing the makeup remover leftovers. It's gentle, I never got irritated because of this cleanser. However, i would not recommend going too close from your eyes. I use makeup remover and toner on my eyes, I skip cleanser. It has a smell, but it's not strong. It smells really clean but very soft.

I tried a pretty good amount of cleanser, but mostly drugstore, and hands down, this is my favorite one! I could even qualify it of Holy Grail for me! I like it that much.
And just so you know before I go, I will post my skincrare products reviews in the order that I put them on my face. First I wash my face, then I use a toner,I use a serum(one for night, one for day) and lastly I apply a moisturizer.

If you have any question about this cleanser or about anything else, please let me know :) The next item that I'll post a review on will be my toner! See you soon :)

Welcome to my blog :)

Hi everyone! Each week I'll be writing at least one post on my blog. I will do reviews on products that I've been trying out for quite some times, I'll make hauls if I go shopping and I will let you know if there is products that I really don't like. It might help you pick whatever you like or stay away from products that didn't work so well. I'll try to be as precise and objective as possible and the most important thing, this will be my own and honest opinion!
I'll be reviewing a few high end products that I have but mostly drugstore products. I buy everything with my own money, if I get gifts from my boyfriend or parents, I'll write it in the post.

If you have a request for me like some sort of review, some product you want me to talk about or any comment, make sur to let me know! I'll do my best to answer back as soon as I can!

Hope you enjoy, and i hope this will help you all!
Have a wonderful day :)
